Google and XREAL opened orders for the Gemini-equipped XREAL AURA wired XR glasses on October 28 in the United States, Canada and South Korea. Japan follows on November 2. Launch pricing starts at $1,099 through year-end. Users can share what they see with Gemini and ask about their surroundings or screens.

Google's enterprise guidance says a laptop display can sit alongside Android applications through wired DisplayPort input, supporting laptops across platforms.

The optical see-through design keeps the physical world visible directly through the lenses. XREAL lists a 70-degree field of view, 1,920-by-1,200 pixels per eye and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Lens transparency has five levels. Its specification table lists 95 grams for the glasses and 265 grams for the separate puck.

Controls include hands, voice and the puck's touchpad, with Bluetooth keyboards and mice also supported. A high-resolution outward-facing camera has a privacy indicator. Two frame sizes accommodate different interpupillary distances, alongside interchangeable nose pads and prescription-lens support.

What Gemini can see, and which app features carry over

Google says Gemini can highlight a point of interest in the room or on a screen when users share their view. Gemini Live also supports conversation about the applications and windows in view.

View sharing requires a user's choice. Google's Gemini Live help for Android XR says the full view is shared when enabled. With the virtual environment off, that includes the surrounding physical space. Users can stop sharing or disable it in settings; re-enabling it requires consent again. The help page requires a signed-in, personally managed Google Account.

Google's consumer Gemini privacy guidance says Live transcripts and uploads are used to improve services and AI models when Keep Activity is on. Audio, video and screenshare recordings are excluded from improvement by default. With Keep Activity off, Live chats remain stored for up to 72 hours for service provision and feedback processing. Previously reviewed chats are retained for up to three years, disconnected from the account, even after activity deletion.

Compatibility still depends on hardware. In its October 28 launch guidance, Unity says one APK can serve Android XR devices, enabling features where supported and skipping them elsewhere. AURA lacks eye and face tracking, so applications using those features need configuration changes. Hand tracking is a separate supported capability. Unity separately introduced seven titles while distinguishing current releases from upcoming ones. The cooperative tabletop game Demeo is available; the two-player miniatures game Fallout: Factions appears in its coming-soon section. The list therefore spans different release stages.

For organizations, AURA uses the Android Enterprise management framework. Managed Google Play distributes public and private business apps; zero-touch enrollment supports remote setup of new devices. Fully managed mode lets IT administrators configure Wi-Fi and system policies, including restrictions on applications.

Google lists verified boot, device encryption, security updates and Play Protect threat detection. Some apps and features require downloads, setup or subscriptions.

The official US store displays $1,099 alongside a struck-through $1,279. Configuration choices include 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage and 16GB with 512GB. XREAL says orders fully paid at the original price before October 28 qualify for the limited-time offer, with applicable differences refunded to the original payment method. It expects to initiate refunds within 30 days, following purchase order.

Shipping is expected in batches from mid-November, with Founder's Edition orders first. Priority does not guarantee a particular delivery date; inventory, production and destination affect arrival. Google specifies users aged 18 or older, setup and a compatible account.
