Samsung released the Galaxy Tab S12 series and Galaxy SmartTag3 in Korea on October 7. The Tab S12 Ultra has a 14.6-inch screen in a 5.1 mm body and lasts up to 23 hours of video playback, while the Tab S12+ is thinner and lighter than before at 5.3 mm and 553 g, with up to 21 hours.
Both support Galaxy AI features such as Now Nudge, which helps with multitasking on a big screen, plus the S Pen for writing and drawing and a multi-window mode that splits the screen into up to three. Samsung also says they are the first Android tablets to come with Adobe Photoshop.
Depending on memory and storage, the Tab S12 Ultra costs 1,899,700 to 3,018,400 won and the Tab S12+ 1,549,900 to 2,069,100 won. Buyers through October 31 get 16 content perks, including a six-month Google AI Pro subscription worth about 170,000 won, and those who buy through Samsung AI Subscription get six months of fees back as Samsung membership points (on four-year plans).
The Galaxy SmartTag3 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, with a battery that lasts up to 790 days and Compass View, which shows the direction and distance to an item within 60 m. It also works with iOS devices and costs 44,000 won.
Why it matters
Tablets are expanding from video devices into AI work tools. Bundling a Google AI Pro subscription with the hardware suggests that selling devices together with generative AI services is growing in Korea too.
Who it's for
- Office workers
- If you want note-taking, split-screen and document work on one device, factor the bundled six months of Google AI Pro into the comparison with a laptop.
- Designers
- With Adobe Photoshop on the tablet, you can refine designs with the S Pen on the go.
