Samsung Electronics, maker of the Galaxy line of devices, said on October 15 through its Korean newsroom that it is expanding the languages supported by Galaxy AI and by Bixby, Galaxy's on-device agent. The aim is to let more people use Galaxy's AI features, from device control to interpretation and search, in their own language.
Malay and Hungarian are being added to Call Assist and Note Assist, the real-time Interpreter, and Transcript Assist, which turns speech into text — taking those features from 22 to 24 languages. Now Nudge, which reads what is on screen and suggests a relevant action, adds eight languages including Dutch, Swedish and Turkish, growing from 16 to 24.
Bixby adds Polish, Thai and Vietnamese, going from 9 to 12 languages. Samsung says people can ask for what they need in everyday words, without knowing the exact name or menu location of a setting.
Bixby's new languages are available from October 14 and Galaxy AI's roll out gradually from late October, with schedules and features varying by country and device. Some new Galaxy AI languages require downloading a language pack in the Settings app, and Bixby requires a Samsung account sign-in and a data connection.
