idempotency

A property that prevents repeated handling of the same request from duplicating its intended effect.

It matters when retrying after a lost acknowledgement could duplicate a send or state change.

An ID alone is insufficient. The processing system must consistently recognise duplicates and reuse the recorded outcome.

For example

A repeated completed W1 returns its prior result instead of sending again.
