GLM Flash comes to Mistral at $0.15 per million input tokens

3-line summary

  1. Mistral added Z.ai’s GLM-5.3-Flash to its API offerings on October 22.
  2. Standard input costs $0.15 per million tokens, with separate cached-input and output rates.
  3. This expands access to an existing multimodal model rather than launching a new model.

Developers using Mistral’s API have another model option. Its October 22 changelog announces GLM-5.3-Flash availability, and the model page marks it generally available. The API identifier is zai-glm-5-3-flash.

Mistral positions it for developer agents, visual coding and complex tool use. The documented context limit is one million tokens, with a maximum output of 128,000. Mistral says it serves Z.ai’s model without modifications.

Checked on October 24, Mistral’s standard USD table lists $0.15 for input, $0.03 for cached input and $0.50 for output, each per million tokens. The headline rate covers input; it is not an all-inclusive price for generating an answer.

Z.ai originally announced the model on August 26, and its public weights carry an MIT license. This update adds Mistral as an access route. Public weights and paid API access are separate matters; this report makes no live model calls or speed and quality tests.

Why it matters

AI Ping sees another candidate for teams already using Mistral. Comparing output volume, retries and result quality on the same task is more useful than choosing solely by the input rate.
