Editorial standards
We put accuracy ahead of speed.
Primary sources first
We write from official announcements by companies and research labs. Every article links its sources, and we never add numbers or quotes that are not in them.
Written by AI, checked by people
News articles are drafted by AI (Anthropic's Claude) from the official announcement. The AI then checks the draft against the source once more for numbers, names and dates, and rewrites it once if anything needs fixing.
An AI Ping editor then reads each article against its source, and only articles the editor approves are published. The first 20 articles, posted when the site opened, were made before this process was in place: Claude wrote them under the same rules, their numbers were checked automatically against the sources, and the operator posted them directly.
Article illustrations are drawn by AI too. They are not photos. They use simple shapes with no logos or real people, and any text is limited to a few short words.
Rewrite, never republish
We do not translate and repost other outlets' stories. We rebuild the facts in our own words and only use images we made.
Plain language
Technical terms are explained the first time they appear and linked to the glossary.
